Story at Scale
Story at Scale was a year-long collaboration of researchers, strategists, artists, advocates, and organizers to develop and test a narrative and cultural strategy to advance gender justice. The project grew out of conversations among reproductive health, rights, and justice leaders humbled by the challenges of winning in a culture steeped in sexism and gender-based violence. Using big data and a collaborative, creative process, Story at Scale delivered audience research and a narrative foundation to guide artists and campaigners in telling stories that reflect the world we seek: a joy-filled life in a gender-just future. Published under a creative commons license in pre-pandemic 2020 in order to maximize uptake and use during the election cycle, Story at Scale’s tools are designed for practical use by those working on issues ranging from reproductive justice to sex- and gender-based violence to LGBTQ+ rights and more.
